Living with Collections...

When I saw both of these photos (Above from Martha, below from Country Home) it instantly reminded me of my mother. She has been collecting milk glass for many years and has built up a nice collection, displayed in a cabinet with beadboard back (no animals though).
A few other collections they showcased were:

stoneware

pottery

vintage shaving brushes

vintage matchbooks
(Which reminded me of Erika's collection.
Can't wait to see how she displays them.)

and glass (my favorite)

Which brings me to my collection and love for vintage wine bottles.I can't get enough of them. They are displayed on top of my kitchen cabinets. I collect shades of greens, blues, and teals; and have a few clear glass as well. I love when the sun shines in and splashes color from the glass.

What do you love and collect? Showcase it this week!

so so pretty!! My grandmother used to collect milkglass and I used to love staring at it when I was little!

I'm not really a collector -- well if shoes count, then yes I am :)

Oh I love your wine bottles! My mum collects teacups and I am hoping to score a few when I finish my house and actually have a kitchen cabinet. I don't collect anything per se as yet but I am happy to carry the torch for teacup collecting in the family.. just need a couple to start the obsession. A-M xx

ooohh! i love collections! your wine bottles are GORGEOUS! I think I've narrowed down the framing for my matchbooks (as of just a few minutes ago, believe it or not!)... i'll snap a picture and post it this week!
I started to collect milkglass once, but it gets so $$$ to get to point of "collection"!
what a fun post!

Oh yes...Double yum on your wine bottles! Does it make me a bad person if I love the painting over the mccoy looking pottery better than the pottery??

Great pix!

Let's see, what am i collecting lately. Seems to be teenagers.

I do have a fairly extensive collection of amateur oil paintings. I like to think I am on the cutting edge. But really I just love finding a great deal at the goodwill. Sigh.

I'll add you to my "blog's I love". Great post.

love it all! I'm trying to collect white pitchers -- vintage preferably, but beggars can't be choosers :)

um, your wine bottles?! GORGEOUS! I didn't realize you had so many! you could definitely spare one or two for a fabulous lamp

OMG what a great collection you have! And I love that image of the vintage shaving brushes. So cool. I collect juice glasses and would like to expand my collection of mismatched plates and tea sets, just as soon as I have a bigger place to put them. I also collect dust and piles of Goodwill bags and dishes in the sink, but not on purpose.

Look again I have four animals. ( and I don't mean your Dad and my three children). Five if you count the first thing I bought in Milk glass; a unique vase with a humming bird on it. It was also my first bid on ebay. It was exciting! I won! Then the obsession started. But I love it.
