Tis' the Season...

Lets begin to celebrate the season of giving and the birth of our Lord. Does anyone have their Christmas tree up? My husband and I normally go the Monday after Thanksgiving (today) and pick out our tree, so I hope we can go tonight. We always get a real tree. Do you get a faux or real tree?

You Name It...

It's a week away from Thanksgiving. I cannot wait! We aren't at the stage of having Thanksgiving at our home yet, but one day. In the mean time I like to brainstorm how I would set up a festive decor. When planning, one of the first things you create is your guest list and figure out how everyone will be seated. Then it is on to place cards. I am enjoying all these place card ideas from Martha. The sweet-gum spur is one of my favorites.

Totally Divided...

In our condo we have two columns that partitions the living room from the kitchen area. These transitional elements add so much character to our space. The Remodeling Center gives great examples how to transition and divide rooms with style and presence.

Pick me Up...

When I first heard that there would be no more Cottage Living after the first of the year I was in shock! It is so sad to hear that the Nov/Dec issue will be their last issue and that the website will soon be gone. If you want a 'pick me up' and to show Cottage Living a little more lovin', grab the "cottage Christmas" issue out on stands now. It doesn't disappoint! We discuss more after Thanksgiving. Enjoy~

Tree Hugger...

We had a great weekend with family; most enjoyable! We always like traveling during fall because of all the beautiful colors of the trees. It makes driving much more lively and pass faster. We have this tree in our neighborhood and pass it every morning; and love it! I pass about three to four of these trees daily and it just brightens up my day. I would love to have a driveway lined with about a dozen of these trees one day. Notice how I keep saying 'these' trees, that's because I don't know what it is. Does anyone happen to know the name of this type of tree? *With the cold front that has moved through, the tree is now bare. The ground is now blanketed in yellow. I am bummed I didn't get to enjoy the tree longer, but so glad I snapped the photo when I did.

Weekly Conclusion...

I feel like this week has run me over! Whew! We are off to visit my sister and brother-in-law and get to play with my sweet niece. I can't wait! But first I thought would share some posts I really enjoyed this week.

Fresh Start...

This family lost everything, including their dream home near Savannah, when it was struck by lightning and burnt to the ground. After that, they wanted to start fresh and returned to Atlanta. When selecting the design of their new home, they wanted the home to look like it’s been in the neighborhood for years, wanted it to be functional for their family, and to be a strong home forever.

The exterior, of fieldstone and shingled siding, introduces and welcomes you into the home. The interior was designed to express the personality of a youthful family; with a gourmet kitchen, including custom cabinetry and limestone countertops, walnut flooring, exposed beams, and a soft color palette of grey-blues, browns, and creams.
