My sweet grandfather passed away this past weekend. After many years battling cancer, he passed peacefully in his home on the lake at sunset surrounded by family. My grandparents married with they were 15 years old and had been married for 65+ years. They traveled the world together while he served in the Air Force and could put anyone to shame on the dance floor. We celebrate his life knowing that he is happy and healthy with our Lord in Heaven. Today we lay him to rest and honor Master Sergeant Gene J. Ballard with a full military service, for a man who loved his family and country.

Be Joyful Always; Pray Continually; Give Thanks in All Circumstances,
for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus.

Bless your heart!
Lord, I pray for Your peace on Megan and her family. Amen
Job 1:18-22
18 While he was yet speaking, there came another and said, "Your sons and daughters were eating and drinking wine in their oldest brother's house,
19 and behold, a great wind came across the wilderness and struck the four corners of the house, and it fell upon the young people, and they are dead, and I alone have escaped to tell you."
20 Then Job arose and tore his robe and shaved his head and fell on the ground and worshiped.
21 And he said, "Naked I came from my mother's womb, and naked shall I return. The LORD gave, and the LORD has taken away; blessed be the name of the LORD."
22 In all this Job did not sin or charge God with wrong.

He sounds like he was a very special guy and probably being adored in Heaven as well. I'm sorry for your loss. I lost my grandpa to lung cancer in February and their lives sound similar-married young, amazing dancers, travel and a peaceful passing. Here's to their amazing lives and love!

Megan,
What a lovely tribute you have in honor of a man who was and will always hold a very special place in your heart. My very own son is pursuing a military life and I can feel the pride in you, your Grandfather and in your faith in the love of family and our country. These things are most important. What a great leader you will have as a reminder to walk tall and live with grace.
