My family room -- it's where we spend all our time, so there's just too much going on in there. I just can't see how to fix it and still have it work for our family!

That book looks great! My biggest problem room is my living room. I have a hard time deciding which colors go together and which don't!

I can always use more resources to help me with my decorating indecision. This one looks like a good one to study!

Definitely my living room. The front door walks right into it, and I never know quite how to arrange everything!

Fun giveaway!!!

My biggest dilemma is letting my kids use the "dining room" as a playroom. I need to move!!! :-)

Have a great day!

Definitely our bedroom. It's very small and awkwardly shaped, and our current furniture is just too large.

Love your blog-such a great source of design inspiration! I would have to say our dining room is in the most need of a makeover right now. This book looks like it would be just the thing :)

Jennifer said...

I would have to say an old bathroom!

Rebecca said...

My basement---I'm stumped! It needs to be a teen room, but my craft/sewing area as well. This book looks great for people like me who need lots of visuals to understand how to pull a room together.

steph2088 said...

The master bedroom. With beams and windows and little wall space it's been hard to decorate.

Sara said...

My dining room is KILLING me right now, but it is getting a little bit better -- maybe I should say our den -- my husband is happy with it, which almost necessarily means that I am not! :)

I'm moving into a 500 sq. ft. apartment and have a feeling all rooms will be a dilemma while I figure out how to live in a smaller space!

Our family room is a tough one because it's large, has a colum in the middle, and wall full of windows, which is very nice, but it removes a lot of "wall" space.

Our kitchen!

for sure my living area. i have no foyer so you walk right into the living room. big challenge! cool book!

My biggest dilemma is my living room. It is so long and narrow, with wide openings to the dining and kitchen. All we have in there is a couch and an overbearing bookshelf and tv console. I want new furniture, but have no idea what combinations will fit and give me more seating.

Kate said...

Our kitchen has been a mess since day one.... help!

My home office is the saddest... However, most rooms are upset at the moment.

Jill said...

My husband's office or my guest bedroom need the most help! I have pushed those rooms to the back-burner, and they need some major help!

I would love this book to help me with my home. I feel like I like so many styles that it is hard for me to ever go in one direction. I definitely need the most help in my bedroom!

No matter what I do our Laundry Room/Office just seems like a never ending battle between clothes, unfinished projects and bills, I could definitely use some help.

Thanks for the chance to win this great book. The room that is giving me the fits is my living room/everything room! It has to serve so many functions for all 4 of us+the cat. The layout is tough because it has two archways and needs to house adequate seating, tv watching, home office, library, etc. Not to mention there are fixed things like radiators (house was built in the 30's) and built ins that I need to work around. I really hope I win this!!! tdwilson10@hotmail.com

Teresa said...

such a great book! Exactly what I need and have been looking for. I have a problem with my family room and the awkward angled fireplace...

Caroline said...

yikes, where to start. both guest rooms and living room are in need of a lot of help!

Blair said...

Our living room/play area for our daughter. It has great built-ins, but also a massive, long wall I can seem to do nothing with!

My daughter's bedroom. My daughters share a bedroom and it is chaos!!!

The master bedroom is always the last play I tinker with! I could use some help making this space more peaceful.

The master bedroom and ensuite. I'm starting from scratch, could use some ideas.

My biggest decorating dilemma is combining/choosing colors for my living room. I love so many bright colors and my hubby likes soothing tones. mandrhenry@gmail.com

The Benson Bungalow said...

Our biggest dilemma is the living room. We have a beautiful red persian rug, but we also have a corner fireplace, and a wall of windows, and a wall for the TV. Needlesstosay, there's a bit too much going on. This book would help us figure out what would be best for our house and family.

Sarah G said...

My bedroom! I can never get it quite right, no matter how many times I repaint/reorganize/rebuy...Thanks!

Auntie Sheila said...

I would have to say the biggest dilemma is the bathroom with adjecent 1/2 bath...it's just odd. Fellow suburban dwellers say leave it, I think knock down the wall separating it and make it bigger and less Brady Bunch. We have a second full bath in the basement and no true master bath. It feels like it could be so much more than it is.

Johanna said...

Definitely the open floor plan kitchen/dining room. With 2 hallways and 3 doors, it's a challenge!

Megan said...

Ooooh I would want to use this book as portfolio inspiration AND to help me narrow down a design for my dining room. The problem is I love too many different things!

And my email is megan.manion@gmail.com

I forgot that part!

Natalie J said...

Definitely our Living Room/Dining Rooms. Technically, its one room in our teeny apartment that we've tried feebly to separate into two. Love this book! I plan to read it cover to cover. :)

Kat said...

Oh goodness. I could really use this book! My master bedroom is absolute disaster and in need of some major design intervention!

Beth said...

LOVE the idea of this book!! I constantly struggle with how to decorate my bedroom - I just can't ever seem to get that tailored, pulled-together, relaxing hotel vibe that we'd all love to come home to... but maybe with The Meghan Method!

Great Book! I would definitely love to tackle my girl's bedroom. I want to convert the playroom into a shared space for them.

Anonymous said...

I'd have to say both the living room and the bedroom. Mostly because I can't pin down exactly what colors I'd love to use. I'd love to figure out how to mix navy, lavender, magenta, and pale gray... Will those colors even work together? LOL I'd love to have this kind of visually oriented guide to step by step decorating to help me through my dilemma!

Anonymous said...

Would love the book. My dilemma would be my living room because it's the first room people see when they walk in and I want it perfect! My email is groth@cox.net

Loooove the Meghan Method! I would say that my problem room is the family room...there's a terrible brick fireplace running the length of the room that I have no idea what to do with!

My toughest room is the dining room. I have a small condo and the lighting fixure is in the center of "room" but it also happens to be in the center of the walkway to the rest of the apartment. Not functional at all!

First off, I just want to say this is my favorite decorating blog - I get many good ideas here! Now, just send me some addl time and $$ through the internet and I would be all set! My problem room is a two story great room.

My biggest dilemma is the livingroom! It is such an odd shape and there are FOUR doorways to work around! Would love this book.

Three years after buying my house, the dining room is empty......the problem is deciding what to do with a windowless room with no architecture...in the middle of the house. It's dark, plain and uninspiring...I certainly need help with that one!!

I don't need to win this book because I already own it!! It's awesome! Detail detail detail, humor, inspiration....this girl is terrific. So is her dad, Tim Carter. His website is www.askthe builder.com. I am not affiliated with either of the Carters in any way other than the wonderful advice that Tim has given me via email. I've never met him or his daughter, though I keep trying to rectify that when Tim visits LA. Even if you don't win this book, check out the Carters' websites!

Hello!
Another bedroom dilemma. Half underground, with horrible sheets of wood panel on the walls, and a low ceiling. I think it used to be Grandpa's hangout room 50 years ago.
Every night, before I go to sleep, I lay there thinking about: colour, texture, wallpaper, light fixtures, flooring, et cetera, et cetera, until my head is spinning and it's all too much, and I have to close my eyes and not think about it.
S.O.S.

Thanks for the chance:)
All the best.

My biggest design dilemma right now is how to redesign/reconfigure my basement living/studio area.
Hmmm - furniture from the stuffy 80's ( queen Anne, etc., combined with updated items from the 90's and 2000's. ...a true melange of furniture. I look at it so much that I am stymied. Ugh!
