While visiting this gorgeous post I thought myself what's the origin of this beautiful wreaths? after a little research I find out that originally, the circlet was called a "diadem" and took the form of fabric headbands which were sometimes adorned with jewels. Beginning in 776 B.C., wreaths made of laurel leaves were used to crown victors of Olympic Games. Later, when the Games began to move to different cities, each host city would award head garlands made of branches of local trees. Exactly when the transition from head ornament to wall decoration occurred is unclear. It is likely that celebration attendees simply hung the leafy headbands on their walls as souvenirs.

I love these images! We placed one of our red berry wreaths on a mirror this year, like in one of those photos. It looks so festive!
I am loving that first door, everything about it!
Is that last one those sticky ball things? My deck is covered in about 15000 of those every fall...might need to get crafty next year!
These are lovely!!!
Theses wreaths are so beautiful and historic!!!
