Real Simple had a great section for entryways and how to define the space with eye-catching artwork and displays, creating a cozy nook {if possible}, using color to make a bold statement, and to add lighting for a soft glow.
They also give examples of 'working' entryways; a place where you can come in and everything has a place: coats, hats, shoes, bags, and even mail. Organization is great!

oooh, those first 2 spaces are my favorites. great chairs.
Love the idea of a chair in the entry (throw your bag on when you get home, and sit down on when you are throwing your shoes on to walk the dog!)
Having a little giveaway today for a 40x50 art print photo canvas (you supply the photo and they print it up!)

I just love entrances in homes. There is so much you can do and get away with. They are like little spaces screaming for something a little different.
These are all lovely! The first one in my favorite (for today at least - i'm fickle!)

i love the vintage mirrors in the third photo!
I love the first photo, especially those floors and the unpainted wood on the bottom of the chair legs. Lovely blog.
Nice post - so many great-looking entryways :) Love the 1st & 2nd pics.
I suggest this site to my friends so it could be useful & informative for them also. Great effort.
You interior designing skills are really awesome. You used picture frames so beautifully to decorate your walls. The frame selection is also tremendous because these frames are matching all other things in the room like wall color, furniture, etc.
