Southern Love...

Have you noticed the new look and changes in this months Southern Living? Take a look here! I really enjoyed their new contemporary layout, playful fonts, and beautiful photography. Southern Living has noticed that even though the South {and the Southern woman} respects its values, manners, warmth and hospitality, it is also evolving, modern, vibrant and busy.

The magazine provides a little bit of everything a Southerner needs for the home, garden, health, food, and travel. I liked it that their tips are realistic, inspiring, and give you confidence to achieve them. And with the fall season here, I loved all their travel ideas and the calendar of events of everything going on. By now I am sure you have seen the 3/50 project throughout the blogsphere, so it was great to see them showcase and support the local artists. It is also full of recipes to prepare you for the holidays {that are approaching quickly!}, it would make me feel like a better cook!

There is so much in this magazine, I would need a week to talk about it. Check out the Chattanooga Bungalow feature; I love the artwork used, from blueprints to an enlarged letter to maps. I also enjoyed their 'Done in a Day' and 'Step by Step' features. And if I had a yard/garden, I would know exactly what to plant right now. All-in-all it's a magazine good for the Southern soul.

I haven't looked at an issue in quite some time, but it's always full of great recipes & decorating ideas.

I have subscribed to Southern Living for over 15 years. When I hear of all of my other favorite magazines going out of print/out of business, I fear for my old faithful. I love SL.

I'm really enjoying Southern Living lately... I've always liked it for the recipes- but it's picking up the slack in some other areas.
