I am notorious for not passing on perfectly good 'free' things, especially furniture! If we had a place or storage big enough, I assure you it would be full of items. Whenever I see items on the curbside I always have to check them out; furniture, windows, doors, etc... I just have to inspect it. This little table was sitting on the curbside last week when I got home from work. Of course my first thought is 'why toss it out?' and my second thought is 'lucky me!'. We have needed a side table for our sunroom and this one fits perfect, and it was free! Don't you just love those finds!? It just needed a little cleaning off and Old English polish and it looks good as new. OK, so let me know that I am not alone out there...any other 'curbside scavengers'?

Trust me honey...You ARE NOT alone! I should go around my house and yard and take pics of all of our *finds*.
Great find, BTW!
Wow, where do you live. Our 'curbsides' are never that glamorous! My last find was a lawn mower that worked long enough to mow the lawn once. Well done... it looks beautiful! A-M xx
how perfect! i love that lamp and basket underneath too. i so would scavenge if people around here would leave goodies out.
Oh no, definitely not alone. I am a total scavenger. One man's trash is another man's treasure!

I can't say that I've ever picked anything up, but that's only because I haven't really ever noticed anything sitting out. maybe I should keep my eyes peeled. fun find!
That was a curbside find? Wow! You're totally not along in your quest for wonderful trash to treasure finds.
It takes a certain gene in your bio makeup to be a "good" scavenger, and you get it honest. You have a good eye, keep my house in mind. :)
I have several things in the house that I've dragged in from the alleys, cleaned up, painted etc. Nothing quite as cool as your table, though!
No, you are not alone- I love dumpster diving! My favorite day in the city is September 1st because thats moving day and there is a ton of good stuff on the streets for the taking.
I've never picked up anything, but I count on peopel in my neighborhood to take our "goodies" that need a new home. Leaving items curbside was a most efficient means of feeing my kitchen of things before last year's remodel. Many thanks to those you do scavenge.
Thanks for the comment on my attic at This Young House. So glad I found your blog, it is great!
My sister-in-law decorated most of their house with items found at the "free mall" (as she calls it) while my brother was in grad school. She just used some paint, creativity, and the occasional reupholstering. And always received compliments on her taste.
