While browsing online today I found this great replica of a mid-century style bench that I think would be perfect for extra storage and seating, from Urban Outfitters (wouldn't have been my first guess).

I looked all over for one of those mid-century benches to replace my antique glass coffee table, when my grand daughter started walking. Somebody talked me into a wooden one (which I love)
but its not soft and has storage, which would have had toys in it for her.
