To Wash & To Fold...

This week I had to catch up on all our laundry. We have a stackable in a small closet (I'm not even sure how it got in there! See image below). So when I came across these images at BHG, I was swooning at the spaces! Don't get me wrong, I feel so blessed to have our own laundry space! A year ago when we were renting we used a coin laundry in the basement of our apartment (that 10 other tenants used as well). It was quite a task to do the laundry; making sure we always had $2.oo in quarters ($1 to wash/dry), and carrying the laundry and detergent up and down two flights of stairs. I look forward to the day of having a 'laundry space', where I can wash, dry, hang, iron, and fold. A girl can dream right. Do you have any horror laundry stories or a dream laundry room ?

well our washer and dryer are sitting smack-dab in the middle of our kitchen! we hope to one day move them to a closet in the breakfast area, but that's not going to happen anytime soon ...

I love all these pics! I know how you feel! I feel lucky that we even have a washer/dryer in our condo (we didn't in our previous apartments), but it's a European style washer/dryer in one and I hate that we have to wait for the same load to dry before starting another load of wash. And it's in our kitchen like a dishwasher, so it's definitely not as fab as all of these!

The laundry room has always been under-rated. I have never had a nice laundry but as we build our new home I have ensured that the laundry gets the recognition it deserves. I am having white shaker style cupboards with little crystal handles and I might even finish it off with a little chandelier... after all I'm going to be spending a lot of time in there! Lovely pictures... I would enjoy doing laundry in all of them! A-m xx

Ok...as Mom of four. I say "self, if ya had a laundry like those...all the laundry would be done...all day every day."

Then I wake up.

Ain't gonnna happen. I'm facing my real life ugly facts. Yep.

I agree with A-M! I would actually enjoy doing laundry in one of these rooms! A laundry room definitely needs some loving attention to make it a fun space. I have a laundry room and it is not a bad size but it is half finished and has been for some time. I look forward to and dream of the day it is finished and I can make it look something like one of the above pics. I am very thankful that I don't have to haul my laundry anywhere to get it done!
Like your blog, I've had you in my list of favorites for a while!

I'm obsessed with laundry and laundry rooms because mine is so crummy. I keep hoping I will see the perfect solution to my dilemma so thanks for the images.

I absolutely love looking at laundry images and never tire of them. I have always had a pretty good sized laundry and when I build my new house I am making sure I have lots of storage, overhead cupboards and a walk-in linen. I love A-M's idea of crystal knobs and a chandelier!!!

Oh, I like the 2an laundry room. I wish I could be that organized and have it stay like that too. Never seems to happen. Daisy~
